Our Staff

MADONNA M. FINNEY is a Florida attorney who limits her practice to adoption law. She is Board Certified in Adoption Law, and considered an Adoption Law Specialist by the Florida Bar. Ms. Finney is a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, and at the time of this publication serves as the Vice President for the Florida Adoption Council. She is past President of the Florida Association of Adoption Lawyers, and has served on the Florida Bar Family Law Section Committee on Adoption. She is actively involved in adoption issues before the State of Florida Legislature and has testified before numerous committees on this topic. She is a founder of COSHARE, INC., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical supplies and equipment to children in developing companies. In 1995, the Florida Supreme Court and Governor Lawton Chiles recognized her for outstanding Pro Bono service to the court for her representation of abused, abandoned and neglected children. In 2008 she was presented the Adoption Star Award by the Florida Adoption Council. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987, and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1988. Ms. Finney is admitted to the Federal Bar of the Middle District of Florida, and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. She has achieved the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a national independent service that rates law firms throughout the country. She has two daughters. Florida Bar No. 0746990.

MARILU has worked as our firm's Adoption Coordinator since 1998. She graduated from the University of Miami in 1983, and has previously worked for the Leon Advocacy and Resource Center as a Social Worker. Marilu is fluent in English and Spanish. She is married and the adoptive mother of twin daughters. Marilu works closely with our birth and adoptive families, assisting our birth and adoptive families with the adoption process.
